DESCRIPTION

Originally designed for domestic kitchen use, this heavy utilitarian stoneware jug with its cylindrical body makes a wonderful vase. Hand thrown on a potters wheel from clay dug nearby the original pottery. An example of a rarely found variant, with a subtle grey tinted white glaze. Featuring genuine character, a subtly textured surface and slightly a-symmetric form, evidence of its handmade production.

Made in Great Britain, C.1980, Staffordshire.
